Pasay City has approved the extension of the extreme
community quarantine (EXCQ) of the barangay in the city with the most COVID-19
positive cases after it gained additional cases, according to the City Health
Office.
In a memorandum provided on Monday by the city released
on May 22, the CHO reported seven confirmed cases in the territorial
jurisdiction of Barangay 183. (Barangay 183 is located in Villamor near NAIA Terminal 3)
During the effectivity of the EXCQ, only households
without Persons Under Investigation (PUIs) and Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs)
shall be allowed to go out of the quarantine area.
It can only be done provided that it is only for the
purchase of essentials and that those will go out possess quarantine passes or
are exempted by relevant issuances by higher authorities.
As per city records as of May 24, Barangay 183 with 26
cases stands with the most number of cases out of the 201 barangays of the
city.
The EXCQ shall remain in effect up to June 7 unless
extended by the CHO.
Meanwhile, the city said that there are are 70 Pasay
employees who went to Pasay Sports Complex to undergo rapid testing. The target
of the City Health Office is to test more than 100 Pasay LGU personnel per day
up to May 29, 2020.
Those who will test positive through the rapid test shall
undergo swab testing and those who will return positive during the swab test
shall be required to undergo a 14-day quarantine.
In its latest COVID-19 update, records showed that the
city has 424 confirmed cases, 152 who recovered, and 34 deaths. (Content reposted from Manila Bulletin)
