Tabuk City barangay apprehends betel nut chewers who spit anywhere they please
As of press time, around 100 persons have been apprehended in
Tabuk City and fined after being warned and made to clean up their mess in the ongoing crackdown on betel nut or momma chewers who spit out anywhere they
want in barangay Dagupan Centro, this
city.
The city has an ordinance that penalizes the improper
disposal of momma spittle. For the the
first offense is fine is P300.00 and/or imprisonment of five days. For the second offiense, its P400.00 and/or
imprisonment of 10 days and P500.00 and/or imprisonment of 15 days for third

4 Bacolod City barangay officials to be charged for not complying with Republic Act 11032
Bacolod City Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo said the erring barangay officials who failed to join the Business One-Stop-Shop or B.O.S.S. at the Bacolod Government Center will be charged for disobedience or refusing the lawful order.
The B.O.S.S. aims to provide convenience and accessibility
to the taxpayers.
Montoyo said it’s the responsibility of the barangay
officials to comply with the Republic Act 11032 (RA) or an Act promoting ease
of doing business and efficient delivery of government services, amending for
the purpose of RA 9484 or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007.2007.
Of the 61 barangays in Bacolod City, Barangays 10, 24, 36
and 39 failed to send their representatives to the activity. READ MORE
DTI Region 6 office plans to boost business development activities in the
barangays
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-6 is planning to conduct its “Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay” program in Iloilo this year to boost and encourage more barangay-based business ventures.
DTI-6 Regional Director Rebecca Rascon said the initiative
aims to intensify the promotion and dissemination of the agency’s programs and

limits
Former Special Assistant to the President Christopher
Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go said he intends to look into the possibility of extending
the terms of incumbent barangay officials.
He made this revelation at the Community Mobilization
Project (CMP) orientation for local chief executives, village leaders, police

Barangay summit on good governance set in Antique
To encourage barangays and other stakeholders to be active partners in the implementation of the national government’s programs, a Barangay Summit on Good Governance for over 600 barangay and government officials will be held on Jan 16, 2019 at the EBJ Gymnasium, Binirayan Hills, San Jose de Buenavista, Antique.

Comelec announces final list of 28 barangays to be included in Bangsamoro
plebiscite
Eight more barangays in North Cotabato will join the
plebiscite for the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM),
bringing the total number of barangays included in the electoral process to 28.
According to Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez, the poll body en banc has approved the petitions of the barangays for voluntary inclusion in the referendum for ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL). READ MORE
Cebu City barangay captain suspended for abuse of authority
For withholding the salaries of kagawads, barangay captain Gines Abellana of Barangay Mambaling in Cebu
City was recently suspended.
The number one barangay kagawad Anne Marie Palomo immediately
assumed as acting barangay captain on Thursday, Jan. 10, following the suspension
of Abellana, after the committee of three of the City Council found him guilty

San Fernando City barangay chair wants to just donate to a school a portion of the land under ejection order
The village chief of San Isidro in the City of Pampanga is alluding to the Department of Public Works and Highways that it donate a portion of a land that it earlier demolished to the San Isidro Integrated School.
On Monday, the DPWH started to tear down structures that have encroached part of the highway’s easement in Barangay San Isidro.

Davao City health authorities warned barangays to be careful in the use of
fogging machines
DAVAO City Health Office (CHO) Sanitation Unit urged barangays with fogging machines to refrain from indiscriminate use of the equipment and for the operators to undergo proper training to avoid hazardous effects to people and the environment.
With reports that some fogging machine handlers operate despite having people around, CHO Sanitation inspector Curtis Lazarraga clarified during the Ispeak media forum Thursday, January 10, that these are barangay-owned machines.
He added that some barangays bought their own fogging machines where operators are not even properly trained. READ MORE

search for cleanest and greenest barangay in Bauang
To sustain the cleanliness and greenness of the 39 barangays of Bauang, the yearly Search of the Cleanest, Greenest Barangay was conducted.
Winners in the search were announced and were awarded during the Rabii ti Bumarangay on January 3, 2019 at the Bauang Farmers’ Civic Center.
Payocpoc Sur, which was the hall of famer in the Search last year was the champion. Barangay Captain Virginia Ardina with her barangay kagawads received P150,000 cash and a plaque of recognition. READ MORE
